Day 2 of my Exile

What is John McCain thinking? I could swear he knew we had just accepted an invitation to a "Debate Watch Party" when he decided to cut and run. I am still trying to figure out what he thought he'd accomplish by his announcement but I'm having a hard time not seeing it solely as a political move.

Now, back to my exile. What to do with all the time I have on my hands now since I can no longer "Report Abuse to a Moderator" or bounce political content around? Here's an interesting tid-bit... Right after the President's address last night, instead of debating whether he explained the bail out well or if the sound of him rubbing his suit against the mic the entire time distracted from his message, my wife and I discussed the implications. It's not that she hasn't been interested in current events before it's just that she hasn't been the one I immediately turned to after "breaking news".

What does it mean? Who the hell knows? LOL, she's the psychologist, not me!

My opinion is that McCain's move was purely a political one...sort of along the same lines as his picking Caribou Barbie. "Let's see if we can throw Obama another curve ball". And again, it will either be a huge success or an unmitigated disaster...
Um, I left you this message back over yonder, and thought you'd want to know a little something about my blog...
"I've often wondered how many people click that link and actually read that tale...there's about twenty chapters to it. The ladies involved are friends of mine from a social network called LiveDigital (since closed down). There are lot of inside jokes within it, but we have done things like paint nipples on the Statue of Liberty, we've burned down a large portion of Atlantic City, the teal Caddy mentioned was stolen from Graceland (yes, the gold one), um, let's see, we crashed Jenna Bush's wedding and made appearances at both national conventions. It's been fun to write, and I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!"
Feel free to use some of the time one your hands to take a gander, the tale starts in the April archives, "Our story begins..." I had a bit of a inspiration yesterday, something along the lines of "worlds collide". My little tale hasn't brought us to the pasture yet, and I think that an episode where the Chelseans meet the nutbuckets might be fun...
Oh, and you know, I thought of an advantage to this little prison of yours. We can talk about all of our favorite posters over yonder! LOL! Take care, I'll be a regular visitor, and here's a little something I thought was appropriate...

Ok, man that cartoon was hilarious... it does capture teh essence of my feelings now.

I will definitely read up on the nutbuckets.

And I do think this does provide a nice escape hatch to the pasture. Sometimes when posting I've felt like the mods were my old professors and I would spend too much time worrying about how it would be graded.

Now I'm free to be. Watch out..

Man, I want to bring you a file in a cake. I agree that McCain's move was also pure politics. I am actually disgusted with McCain but yet the diehard supporters still clutter the forums with their nonsense about more of this true American crap. I've persued your blog rocx but it has been awhile. I must go back to yours and to Sark's.

Heh! ACLFU!! That's perfect.
Anyone care to comment on my favorite troll, steelgirl?

Thanks to Rocx for sending me your blog address. We miss your insights and sense of humor in Vermont!
And yes, Pixel, we should start reporting Steelgirl and get her banned again. She was banned back in April during the primaries, and she's back to her old tricks.

PING said...

Welcome sweet!

Steelgirl is surprisingly civil at times and then she get's all pumped up and starts the bash fest. She got a 40 day ban back then, although my 25 day one isn't much better... damn Patriot and his decision to teach me a lesson. And if this was W_W's doing... well...

Anyway... maybe the trick is to wait until Nov 5th is 40 days away? That way they can't post anything until after the election.

Pixel said...

steelgirl did start out civil, then just lost it. That 200,000 rally post just topped it. Plus her continued insistence that that crack pot Larry (forgot his last name)really has something on Obama concerning gay sex and crack. Harley Woman is another one that should be reported at every turn.

Do any of you remember Crescentmoon? She and Steelgirl used to go at it constantly. I wonder what happened to Crescent. She was a Hillcat supporter as well. Oh, that reminds me of something else... tessie is the one that got Hillcat added to the verboten words list. She thought I was using it against Sen. Clinton. What a piece of work.

Just dropped in to show some solidarity. Do you suppose they'd lug us all if we changed our signatures to "FREE PING"?

I suspect the mods would frown upon it. They have been pretty cool with the Chelsea thread. As much as I'd love to start a campaign, probably best not to hang ourselves. For now at least we can hang here.
So John, how bout' them Red Sox?

ratboy said...

so why is it I can handle steelgirl but want to wring jodies neck?

PING said...

Yeah, don't do anything to get the mods angry with y'all. I'm ok as long as y'all visit. In fact I just told the wife about it and she says you're all cool. LOL.

Ok, I can handle steelgirl and jodie but not tessie, why is that?

I actually grew fond of teeko.

Because Jodie is the Troll royale. As obnoxious as steelgirl is, I think she's just there to bust balls. I have to go back and check, I may be wrong in accusing steelgirl in regards to the Obama gay limo sex, crack smoking thing. That may be all Jodie. Sometimes I get so frustrated I start to confuse the 2.
Jodie (I hate that she lives in the state next to me) is not there just to bust balls, she's there to stir up the hornets nest. Don't even get me started on jel and CMike11. I'm guessing those 2 were banned for a loooooooong time, because I had forgotten about them. There was another one that used to piss me off, but I can't remember his name. He's the one that liked to use Latin to try to seem superior. Anyone here know who I'm talking about?

Another day and you have missed nothing. Well except that life goes on in the verdant ridges and valleys on the east coast of Vermont, and the accreted land further to the east still continues its steady slide into the rift valley.

In the forum large, the spammers are a spamming the bashers are a bashing and my simple thoughts can find no purchase. SSDD. In 40 days we might again have a fun forum.

Cheers
Labour

Edited out bash

Ok, my sister in law is 12/24 and her daughter is 12/26. We're all supposed to head down to FL the week after Xmas so the pact is that the trip covers all b-days and xmas presents.

The wife is a Pisces so we're a good match.

Hey there PING! We miss you in the Pastures...I TOLD you to put that lapel pin in a more obvious location!! And you're right...steelgirl, tessie, and jodie drive me batty...I haven't seen tennisgirl lately--maybe she got kicked off or just gave up? She's one of the odd ducks who still insists that Barack HUSSEIN Obama is an Islamic extremist bent on infiltrating our government.

I also find McCain's sudden interest in "fixing" the economy slightly suspect--especially from someone who admittedly knows very little about the economy. But now he's our Capitol Hill Saviour?

I don't buy it.

Will they be shutting Chelsea down after the elections

PING said...

Hey Andie, thanks for stopping by the Squirrel Cage.

you know p3, I was wondering what they would do with Chelsea after Nov. They did the major overhaul to City Hall during the primaries and so what will they do when it's all over?

Pixel said...

Hey y'all, we have some Kevin Smith and donkey scenes going on over in the pasture. Anyone else here a fan of Kevin Smith, AKA Silent Bob?
I gotta point out, that after a couple of glasses of wine, that word verification thing starts giving me a hard time.

Ya know, Jodie, SG, et al., drive me crazy as well...but the Dem side of the forum has it's screwballs, too. Eaglevision, Mechadave(where's he been?), the ever positive Branecoke, but my personal "favorite" was ObamaForever/PS11/ObamaForever3...that freak of nature gets himself shitcanned, then creates another profile, rubs Patriot's nose in it publicly, and still gets to hang around.
Anywho...I've often wondered what will happen to the Chelsea Thread after Nov. 4...moved to the CS,perhaps? Maybe we should consider relocating the pasture at some point, just an idea...

I often wonder what will happen in City Hall after November 4th in any case...it seems like if we took Obama or McCain bashers/supporters out of the equation, the only thing LEFT would be our own dear Chelsea thread...!

BTW, I tried to submit a valid URL in order to create an avatar here, and it seemed to acknowledge it, but then it would default to nothing and I'd get no image. Am I missing the magic button?
