That's the text I just received from my buddy. The good thing is that being bought bought by Citi is a lot better than what happened to the folks over @ Lehman's. The worst part is the waiting game to see where you stand with your company. That's what happened to me last year and it royally sucks. I ended up making it thru but with reduced income and more responsibilities.... Ah, but no commute!
I still have my share of issues getting to work in the morning though. Take this morning for example: Groggy Monday morning shuffling.. battling some sort of sinus attack... I stumbled out to warm up the wife's car and take the dog out for his morning duty.... and the next thing I know the only sign of the beast is the trail across the wet grass into the woods.
When he finally did return he was soaking wet and smelled of something... let's just say "un-doglike". So off he went to an early morning bath and de-smelling treatment down in the big tub. He knew it was coming and even offered to jump into the tub on his own (which is good because I really had no desire to assist).
I'm ecstatic that my sinuses decided to unclog a bit but I would have preferred that they let go after the beast was clean and not prior. Wet beast stank is foul.
So, things are ok but mind you this all took place before 7:30 am...

I've had the pleasure of early morning exercise from time to time...two of my four canines stay outside during the day, unless the weather is lousy. There is a short trip from the garage to the fenced in area of the yard, and I have accidentally lost hold off a leash. Then's it the old "Freedom and let's see if we get the old man winded before he goes to work" routine. The last time I think I recovered shortly after lunch...
Brief forum update: one of the idiots (BlondeblueEye?) decided to resurrect the Panama thread after nearly three weeks. I can't imagine dragging anything up from that long ago, especially when it's that pointless...
Well, Nicky discovered potting soil, and that you can pull the plants out of the pot and scatter dirt everywhere. I should have named him Ivan, as in Ivan the terrible. He is smack dab centered in his reign of terror and getting too big to pick up. Ping I worked for a bank which was bought by first security which was bought by wells fargo. I made it through two but lost on the third. Best thing that ever happened to me
Well, I would love to see the issue of Birth Certificates and Birth Canals discussed at the 2nd Presidential Debate.
We just a small dip in the market after the media reported that the vote hadn't passed and then rebound when the traders realized the vote wasn't final and then start tanking a bit again after the word is out that the bill had been defeated.
Wheewww... talking about riding the Cyclone today!
Lot's of safe haven buying over here in the mortgages...
If I make it thru with my job thru this next round I will be happy. There's really no jobs around in the NoVA area at all unless I go back to school... and I'm looking at that already.
Snickers the Wonder Dog tends to try her Great Escape in the ten feet between the car and the front door. We have to let her out of the car and then guard the gap between the front of the car and our front steps...if we succeed, she runs right up to the front door as if that was her only intention all along. If we waver, she throws back her ears and hightails it to the creek behind the house. Once she slips by, she's history for about ten or fifteen minutes, smelling all sorts of yummy doggy smells. Eventually, she comes wagging back to the front porch, wondering why we haven't let her in the house sooner.
Fortunately, the only animal who's had the...uh...aromatic pleasures of the common skunk is the cat. It lasted about three weeks and then finally faded.
