What Ever Happened to Baby Chelsea
Here's some communication between me and you know... LOL
Question
Pariot locked the thread once and then considered the fact that it was the only place that was truly bi-partisan. Why this sudden shift in thinking? Just because some posters may not understand it until they peruse it is not a reason to shut it down. We have welcomed every single person to come and enjoy the feelings of comradery that the thread has been able to provide during a very heated election. So, why? And, why now?
Re: Question
The majority of the thread was irrelevant to the City Hall - Election 2008 forum and in violation of forum rules/policies. Discussions not related to the upcoming election can take place on the Coffee Shop - General Discussion forum.
Re: Question
But you saw Patriot's post within the thread, correct? We had permission from an Admin.I just don't understand how things could be different today than they were 2 months, or 4 months ago.
Re: Question
That was Patriot's decision at that time. This is now some time later and it is my decision. The thread had veered to a point where it had absolutely nothing to do with the election.
Re: Question
Ok, but could you maybe have brought the subject up with us instead of just shutting it down? You can understand why there are some pretty upset posters right now, right? I mean just a little while ago we were the headline thread because even Wonder_Woman saw the effect that the thread had and the value it added to City Hall.I completely understand that you're the new law in town but it's a cold hard fact that all of the core posters in the Chelsea Thread had varying opinions and political views but we all got along outside the thread. It was like the Welcome Thread in the Coffee Shop.
Re: Question
The thread had no real direction in the first place, so a reminder to stay on topic would have served little purpose. The thread will not be returning. Please observe the Forum Guidelines going forward. Thank you.
So, you can see we're fighting an uphill battle...
Do we Soldier On, or let it die?

City Hall
Since it takes me more than 20 minutes to reply to a thread since yesterday I've been forced to remain a spectator to the bullshit being posted in the forum. I notice that there are a ton of new members and the same shit that was posted months ago is resurfacing and attracting the long time trolls to the feeding frenzy.
Deep thought's with PING: Hmmmn, like pig's blood in Hades giving the dead the strength to speak?
Anyway, I saw our protectress post this in a recent lock:
Agree or disagree with issues or character, but posts that included comments or links to articles that degrade others on the basis of gender, age, race, class, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or disability, or those that defame character, spew epithets, use abusive language or obscene comments or perpuate debunked rumors (birth certificate, AFI Michele announcements, etc.) and slurs that poison the atmosphere of the forum will be deleted or locked going forward.Community members: Please report abuse rather than quoting offending posts. Thank you!
I bolded the part that's important...
What if, for just one day, we were able to resist the urge to respond to these threads? Like we all banded together and recruited the other non-nuts to join the us in the Pasture only...
I think all posts by the following should be ignored:
Joe*Plummer
StuckIn*lueState
mrs*so
Dag*er55
eha*t
Haf*r
Now, that's my initial list of people who bug me... I know they tend to be only Anti-Obama... but that's a good portion of the crap on the boards at any given time...
Let me know if you think this will work and if do who else should be added....

Too funny
http://palinaspresident.com/
I find it hilarious.
On a side note, for those on PING watch... I believe my return will occur Friday afternoon...
I have been observing the action taking place... some people are out of control, I tell ya!

Leafers
I'm about to be sprung this week from timeout.... Either the 17th or 18th, depending on how they counted the days... Woohoo... and it'll be just in time to catch a couple of discussions about the final debate, maybe a new thread about whether or not there was as abuse of power, and I'm sure some regurgitated bullshit about citizenship or terrorist connections...
Now, how beautiful is this?
Skyline Drive

Now, how beautiful is this?
Skyline Drive

We went "leafing" yeasterday... it was the first time the I had done that since I was a kid... Dragged mom and the wife out to Skyline drive and tried to cram in as many Scenic Outlooks as time allowed us before the sun went down yesterday and the road filled with DEER. On the way we had lunch and caught a festival in Front Roayl, went to an orchard, and a winery...
Now, that's celebrating fall! If we had had just made it to a pumpkin patch it would have been the whole Autumnus Festivus.

Evidence of the Feline Militia's presence in Ancient Egypt?
Imagine my surprise in the National Museum of Natural History this past Saturday when I stumbled across these artfacts. Not one but 2 cat mummies in 1 display case.
Still not better than the Butterfly exhibit, though. This is where you pay additional money to "walk among flying artwork"... yeah, right!
Too bad that this weekend the a/c was cut out in there... so we spent 8 bucks each to enter a butterfly spa. Between the humidity and the 95+ temp the place was tolerable for all of 5 minutes. Most of the butterflies were sitting on the marble so that says something about the conditions.

This dude was huge so I called him Mothra. He only landed on one human and of course he chose a 5 yr old who proceeded to have a panic attack about the whole thing. Anyway.... that was the weekend.
Now, is everyone ready for the big showdown tonight? LOL, I can imagine the fowum is buzzing...

Mission Accomplished
I have defeated the Blue Screen of Death.... barely. All I actually cared about was my pictures but it seems that the tech peeps were able to recover my music and documents as well. Everything else, like programs, could be re-installed, but I am one of those idiots that never does a back up and I definitely don't think about downloading from my camera to anywhere other than my PC. So... yep.. looking for another way to do it from now on.
So that's what I've been doing the past few days... besides going crazy at my job with everything going on in the financial world. It's probably a good thing that I'm in time-out because I could have lose a few k if I hadn't been paying attention closely..... ADHD doesn't help either. I've also been looking at going back to school and getting out of this field. Figured I could start up again and go in the evenings... study during the day although it would cut significantly into my Chelsea time...
I have no opinion really about the debate last night. I have realized that nothing I can say or refute, or joke about or debunk will change my vote and is very unlikely to sway anyone else... I think they both made their pints last night and neither one of them gaffed. How sad is it that we've become so PC that debating has become so unbelievably boring?

By the way... this is one of my recovered pics... Remember when Mattel was recalling Barbies last year... this is one of my old co-workers.. I'll post more of him later.
