Imagine my surprise in the National Museum of Natural History this past Saturday when I stumbled across these artfacts. Not one but 2 cat mummies in 1 display case.
Still not better than the Butterfly exhibit, though. This is where you pay additional money to "walk among flying artwork"... yeah, right!
Too bad that this weekend the a/c was cut out in there... so we spent 8 bucks each to enter a butterfly spa. Between the humidity and the 95+ temp the place was tolerable for all of 5 minutes. Most of the butterflies were sitting on the marble so that says something about the conditions.
This dude was huge so I called him Mothra. He only landed on one human and of course he chose a 5 yr old who proceeded to have a panic attack about the whole thing. Anyway.... that was the weekend.
Now, is everyone ready for the big showdown tonight? LOL, I can imagine the fowum is buzzing...

Well...it's buzzing, but not necessarily about the debate. People seem to be more occupied with blaming the financial situation on either one side or the other, Ayers seems to be a hot topic, and then there are the idiots that want to bring up impeachment less than one month before the election...*eyeroll*
It does appear that the questions being asked tonight will have been filtered, revised, and reviewed enough so that I'm guessing that not only will we not get any hard questions, but that both of them will be able to get away giving pretty weak answers. And check this out...no follow up questions from either the questioner nor the moderator. McCain and Obama aren't supposed to ask each other direct questions, either...
Now, knowing Nashville as well as I do, if this thing goes down without one question about illegal immigration, then in my opinion, we will have witnessed a dog and pony show to beat all!

Tonight's "debate" will be interesting. Debate teachers all over the country were cringing last week. My 13-year-old son took debate class and even he could tell that all the rules of debating were broken. He loves the S.P debate flow chart.
Got my hand slapped today for a comment a made 2 days ago!! Not sure what comment it was, problem something aimed at Jodie. Also was told my avatar exceeded acceptable limits.

The debate is going to be nothing more that puffed chests a strutting around like Foghorn Leghorn in the town hall format. The spin machine is in full warp speed and the "underdog" this time is Barack Obama. You'd think after 193 debates with Hillcat that he's be the champ, lol.
Sweet! Me thinks GV may need a reminder that Chelsea was his 1st goddess and unfortunately for him she is of the jealous type.. Now, I'm thinking her mom is more like Hera and her dad Zeus (get my womanizing drift?)and Chelsea a bit like Athena... and GV needs a gentle nudge back to the temple. If he persists just resurrect the "McCain was born in Panama" or "The Babies cried out to Obama" thread and that should do it.
Pix, I had no idea that the thing was there until I started messing around the other day. It's amazing how much time you find you have when you're not constantly repsonding to the same thing over and over again to the same peeps about the same non-issue. I was horrified to find that I was demanding the same rabble scrabble like Ticketmaster or something.
Now I miss the forum a bit.. but then again I do think we should use this as a non-moderated back up plan.
