Now, how beautiful is this?
Skyline Drive

We went "leafing" yeasterday... it was the first time the I had done that since I was a kid... Dragged mom and the wife out to Skyline drive and tried to cram in as many Scenic Outlooks as time allowed us before the sun went down yesterday and the road filled with DEER. On the way we had lunch and caught a festival in Front Roayl, went to an orchard, and a winery...
Now, that's celebrating fall! If we had had just made it to a pumpkin patch it would have been the whole Autumnus Festivus.

We've put Chelsea on hold for you...we only have 50 or so posts before the magic 5,000, and we wanted you to do the honors...
As far as the "leafing"--that's one thing that I miss about living in Minnesota and Eastern Tennessee. In Colorado, we mostly just get the aspens. Fall has got to be one of my favorite times of the year, even though it means that winter is right around the country.
Too bad you're missing City Hall--we have Steelgirl tag-teaming Jodie, gleefully declaring that Obama has no choice but to embrace Islam, since his step-dad was Muslim. The scariest part is that they're absolutely serious....!
Wow, they've resorted to the base smear of Islam. Don't you find it od how long it takes for the tactics of the campaign to cycle thru the forum? Like for example, the McCain campaign went negative for the last couple of weeks, but the attitudes and posts by his supporters will be vile until at least after the election.
I actually wouldn't care if Obama was a Muslim as long as he didn't try to mix it up in his job... Look where Bush's talks with Jesus have gotten us.
That's nice of everyone to keep Chelsea for me, thanks. It's probably be the only thread I end up contributing to until it's locked.
Ah...leafing! Growing up in VT there was about a one week period when things were at full power, usually closer to the beginning of October than to the midddle. The roads would be overly busy with "flatlanders", who were busy "leafpeeping". Visitors were always telling us how lucky we were to live there, and we'd smile and say "Yes, we are!", all the while knowing that the coming weeks would bring the snow and the cold that marks a northern New England winter...
I observed the SG/Jodie antics this weekend...I do believe that both of them need meds...lots of meds. Being more of an observer than a participant, I am amazed at the positions taken by both sides, really. I saw someone suggest that William Ayers would make a fine Secretary of Education. Sorry, folks, that is way over the top, IMO. Then there are those who seem to think that after 11/4, an Obama victory is going to magically change everything, and all will be right in the world. Again, that's way over the top...
But I digress...The Thread will reawaken soon, maybe in a day or two. It shall rise from the bottom of City Hall, and reclaim it's position as the gentle giant of that board...then, all will be right in the world, LOL
and I, for one, can't wait...!
